Context:  Justin expresses his disdain for a co-worker in his inimitable way.

One shudders to think of the circumstances that embedded this saying in Justins' psyche.

"I'm going to throw in a wildball."

Context:  Justin decides to mix it up in a planned meeting.

I think it is safe to say that the 'wildball' that was 'thrown' was Justins own presence at the meeting.

"I had to do some upside down mathematics to work this one out."

Context:  Justin demonstrates just how far he is willing to go in the pursuit of knowledge.

 

This actually explains a lot about some of the work Justin produces.

"Personally, I'd get my opinion of it...."

Context: Justin suggests further sources of information to a client.


The self importance powers are strong in this one.

"Sarah is flying the boat on her own today."

Context: Justin reports on the IT department being understaffed.


Not sure if he's mixed a metaphor here or he actually thinks boats can fly.

Either way, it's nonsense.

"You run the risk of stirring-up a rat’s nest of massive public opinion."

Context: Justin expresses his concern that a project we are doing may have it's consequences.


It's when public opinion becomes massive that you have to start worrying.

"Thanks for holding the shit."

Context: Justin was out of the office for a bit and wanted to express his gratitude for a colleague looking after his projects.


One 4-letter word turns a fairly standard metaphor into an altogether more unpleasant proposition.
